Issue 73 - Canoe Chase

Issue 73 of Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy had a theme focused on the massive and complex conflict that was The Seven Years War. And while we specifically chose to examine the European side of the war, there were many other connected battles, fought throughout the world in locations as far flung (at the time) as North America and India.

Therefore, our extra web-only article for this issue deals with the French and Indian War, a conflict which was a direct offshoot of the turmoil in Europe. Mark Backhouse has provided a clever little set of rules for a pursuit game between Native Americans and European trappers - a quick-playing skirmish game that fits perfectly with the kind of combat that happened around that time.
