All alliances have a beginning & all wars have an end!
In the ancient world,who was responsible for negotiating alliances or treaties?
Was that the responsibility of a specific diplomat class or the responsibility of individual commanders?
Did the Romans ever come into contact with the Scandinavian nations or did the unstable consolidation of the other Celtic/Germanic regions prevent this?
