A maker of the Annus Mirabilis

For Britain, 1759 was an Annus Mirabilis, a miraculous year, in the Seven Years’ War. On land, these achievements depended on the ancestors of Wellington’s ‘article’, the humble Redcoat. So Christy decided it was high time to paint one!
