Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge - Opening Gambit

Hello All,

For my first foray into this year's challenge, I decided to start with some of my late-war British recce vehicles, in 1/56. These were relatively straightforward to paint on the whole, but - as Mrs King sagely pointed out - "Isn't it counter-productive to paint all that detail only to then cover it all up again with mud and muck?!" Wise words; softly spoken.

Plus, although the jeeps are only small, their straightforwardness was more than offset by the wretched para smocks. Grrr.

In this first tranche, for which I'm claiming 100pts, please find below the following (in order):

  • Daimler Armoured Car (Inns of Court),
  • Humber Armoured Car Mk IV (Inns of Court - I may in future attempt the 'sawn-off' version!),
  • Humber Scout Car (from 3RTR), and
  • two Recce Jeeps from my Airborne forces. These were easier to paint, but the annoying para smocks more than made up for that!

Thanks for swinging by - I just love how cool these recce elements look when zooming around the tabletop, harrying the enemy's flanks!
